Supervised by: Chief Development Officer 


Position Summary:

The Manager of Donor and Community Engagement will be responsible for implementing donor cultivation. Works closely with the Chief Development Officer to implement and execute strategies designed to support current organizational financial needs and accelerate future growth. Interact with staff, volunteers, partners, and donors. The Manager of Donor and Community Engagement handles a variety of tasks related to corporate, foundational, and individual giving and events. Represents the agency at external events and builds relationships in the community.


Duties and Responsibilities:

● Track philanthropic requests, pledges, and contributions

● Manage a donor/prospect list and update donor databases (DonorPerfect) including Adopt A Home donors

● Fill in for Chief Development Director as needed for networking/educational/marketing events

● Acts as liaison between the agency and the community, including speaking to community, church and corporate groups

● Liaison 3rd party fundraising initiatives including various donation drives, ensuring in-kind is properly tracked and recorded

● Assist in the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual reports including annual budget process

● Leads the Gala planning committee - largest fundraising event

● Attend and participate in the Development Department, House of Refuge Staff, Committee meetings

● Community Networking events/meetings, and Donor Tours  

● Assist with development support of resident events and engage donor support of the event

● Mindful of Grant opportunities when talking with corporate

● Assist the Development Department in designing and attaining program goals and objectives for the benefit of House of Refuge

● Collaborate with the Development Department on all development strategies, messaging and marketing

● Assist volunteer coordinator on group projects

● Outreach Committee Liaison

● Plan gift acknowledgments and recognition for donors

● Consistently demonstrates knowledge of all House of Refuge Volunteer programs, policies, and procedures and provides residential and volunteer confidentiality and professional boundaries

● Perform other duties as assigned.


Education/Experience:

● Bachelor’s Degree, non-profit/human services knowledge or related field preferred.

● Computer literacy is required. CRM, Google and Excel experience required.

● Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.

● Able to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.  

● May require extended periods of walking, sitting, and standing.

● Must have the ability to lift at least 40 lbs.

● Able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills at all times.


Hours:

Full-time Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM. Must be willing to work occasional weekend and evening hours as requested.
