Community Action Partnership

Community Action Partnership

Tuesday, August 13, 2024 (3:30 PM - 4:30 PM) (MST)

Description

Description:

All Chamber members are invited to join us to maximize the impact of non-profit organizations in Mesa. Guest speakers share information each month, and attendees build relationships to support each other's service to our community.

The Community Action Partnership’s new tagline is Action Through Impact. In that spirit, our next meeting on August 13th will be focused on coordinating service opportunities to honor the National Day of Service.

Agenda:  Love Your City – 9/11National Day of Service

The National Day of Service and Remembrance or 9/11 Day happens each year to commemorate the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Approximately 35 million Americans observe this day by engaging in some form of charitable service, making this the largest annual day of charitable service in the United States. The City of Mesa and JustServe are joining together to invite non-profits, churches, businesses, and volunteers to unite in service on Saturday, Sept. 7 (or the following week) and make a difference in our community.

Our interactive discussion will be led by Delynn Bodine, Chair of Together in Service, and Sara Anderson of JustServe. We will work together to provide resources to help our local nonprofit community on the National Day of Service and beyond. Please come prepared with ideas for projects you’re interested in hosting or participating in, and we’ll talk about how we can make your vision a reality.

About Sara Anderson

As an Outreach Specialist for JustServe.org, Sara Anderson helps non-profit organizations use JustServe.org to find the volunteers and donations they need. Her favorite places to volunteer include Paz de Cristo, Midwest Food Bank, and Gathering Humanity.  She believes that volunteer service unites communities in understanding and compassion.

About Delynn Bodine

Delynn is grateful to be associated with ‘Together in Service,' the City of Mesa’s new initiative that brings leaders of churches, synagogues, mosques, temples and nonprofits together with the City to collaborate, innovate, and expand efforts to meet the needs of the community. She has a natural love for others and is excited to see how ‘Together in Service’ fosters and strengthens unity across Mesa.
