Description

The General Election ballot in November will have several questions for Mesa voters.  Please join the Government Affairs Committee at 7:30 a.m. on August 16 to learn more about 12 projects totaling $260 million that Mesa proposes to fund through the sale of bonds over the next five to six years.  Mesa Mayor Giles will be presenting the details.

In addition, Gilbert Public Schools, with 1/3 of their district within Mesa city boundaries, is requesting approval of a proposed 15% budget override continuation.  Gilbert Schools Superintendent, Dr. Shane McCord will be presenting the details.

The Mesa Government Affairs Committee was created to focus on legislative practices and decisions affecting all professional establishments. This group helps local business owners stay up to date on relevant information occurring at every tier of government.

When convened, experts from local, state, and federal levels of office speak on topics that pertain to all organizations. Topics have previously included taxation,  business regulation, education, economic development, transportation, and immigration.
