All Chamber members are invited to join us in the ongoing work to maximize the impact of the non-profit community within Mesa. Guest speakers share information each month, and attendees are encouraged to network for synergies opportunities to support each other's work.

This month's Speakers:

Ben Stayner
Human Services Principal/Insurance Advisor
The Mahoney Group

Ben is a nine-year veteran of Human Services and Nonprofit Risk Management and has been with The Mahoney Group the entire time. Among his many accomplishments are such honors as Rookie of the Year 2015 and Great American’s Top Human services agent in Arizona for 2022. Within the HS and NP practice, Ben specializes in  Behavioral Health, Developmentally Disabled, Home Healthcare, Skilled Nursing and Hospice. He is a sixth-generation Mesa, AZ native, his Wife a seventh. They have four children and one Grandchild, also all in Mesa. Ben’s hobbies include leatherwork and hunting/fishing.

Nichalas Flores
Partner/Human Services Practice Leader/Insurance Advisor
The Mahoney Group

As head of The Mahoney Group’s Human Services Practice, Nichalas (Nick) Flores serves nonprofit and for-profit clients nationwide. His focus includes relationship management, program design, carrier relations, and account oversight. Nick’s career with The Mahoney Group began in 2004. He became a partner with the firm in 2019. A Mesa Community College graduate, Nick holds a Certified Insurance Counselor designation and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. Nick and his wife Sarah and their two boys live in Gilbert.

Their presentation will cover such topics as:

  • Cyber Coverage for Donor Records, etc.
  • Directors and Officers
  • Volunteers and Employees
  • General Liability, Property and Auto and more

Mission:

  • Develop synergy and collaboration among non-profit organizations
  • Increase awareness about the role of non-profit organizations
  • Promote active engagement and personal connection with the business community

Agenda:

  • Promote non-profit organizations as an economic driver
  • Create networking events to integrate non-profits and business community
  • Identify various organizations and determine overall scope of non-profit community--via survey of organizations
  • Pull together interested organizations to develop offering and involvement of Council
