The Women's Business Connection is a member driven initiative to create an event to benefit women business owners or women team members. Our goal is to have speakers that will offer educational, useful information that is applicable in professional and/or personal growth.

About Mona Dixon:

Author, and Keynote Speaker, Mona Dixon was homeless sleeping on the streets and in shelters until age 13. A few short years later she was honored by The President of the United States in the Oval Office.

After receiving her coveted Boys & Girls Clubs of America® “National Youth of the Year Award,”  Mona was appointed to serve as the youngest member of the U.S. Presidential Committee alongside 4 other distinguished individuals. Mona competed with 500 other youth in the organization (out of millions of members total) when she was crowned the winner. The award criteria included: Speaking, academics, leadership and community service.

As a Presidential appointee, Mona assists the CNCS to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering. Through hard work and earned scholarships, Mona was on Section 8 Housing when she received $20 from a generous woman for an application fee her mother could not afford. Thereafter, she went on to earn $100,000 in academic and achievement scholarships.
