The Women's Business Connection is a member driven initiative to create an event to benefit women business owners or women team members. Our goal is to have speakers that will offer educational, useful information that is applicable in professional and/or personal growth.

This month's guest, Dawn Giles:

Dawn Giles is a part-time paralegal at the Mesa law firm Giles & Dickson and a full-time community volunteer. She has a degree in Health Education and previously worked for the American Heart Association. She enjoyed volunteering with non-profit organizations and was involved in several successful health initiatives in Mesa. Dawn has also been an active volunteer in school and church organizations.

Dawn learned the value of the arts and art education at an early age growing up in Scottsdale, Arizona where she followed her mother around the Phoenix Art Museum. She been a Mesa Public Schools Art Masterpiece Guide for over 30 years and a member of the District Art Masterpiece Council for 19 years and now serves as the Council President. Dawn served on Mesa's i.d.e.a. Museum Foundation Board for 6 years and was Board Chair for 3 years. She is now the museum's Capital Campaign Chair. Her favorite place to be is in a museum.

She was recently named 2021 Mesa Citizen of the Year in recognition of her community service. Dawn and her husband, Mesa Mayor John Giles, raised their 5 children in Mesa and delight in their 8 grandchildren who live nearby.
