EHS Manager
Essential Duties:
To develop, implement and monitor occupational health and safety policy, programs and procedures
Comply with current health and safety legislation and/or regulations with the objective of ensuring that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety and health of learners, staff and visitors.
To increase health and safety awareness at all levels within the organization.
To investigate and report on all serious/critical personal injury accidents occurring to employees and/or visitors to the appropriate senior staff, and to assist in the investigation of all accidents/incidents.
To investigate and report on complaints of hazardous working conditions to the Plant Manager and/or appropriate staff.
To respond to employees safety concerns.
To conduct, as necessary, the safety inspection of the facility.
To assist the company’s occupational health and safety committees.
To respond to fires and other emergencies on the company property.
To coordinate registration and removal of hazardous waste.
To receive reports from and respond to orders issued by local, state and federal agencies.
To arrange for Occupational Health and Safety testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies/consultants as may be necessary.
To act as liaison with all related governmental bodies and regulating agencies.
To coordinate the training of personnel in areas of safety, including first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, work place inspections and other matters related to implementing safety procedures in the workplace.
To coordinate the company’s emergency procedures and act as the Company’s emergency on-site coordinator.
To assist senior management, management, supervisors in emergency preparedness.
To develop, review, and update appropriate sections of the Company’s Emergency Procedures Manual.
To liaise with municipal and state emergency planners, update plans, organize exercises and evaluate procedures.
To liaise with the fire department regarding emergency procedures, communications and fire safety education programs.
To assume other duties as may be assigned.
Work closely with other technicians, supervisors, managers, and environmental health and safety personnel to ensure that waste management operations are conducted efficiently and responsibly.
Key aspects of the role include identifying hazardous materials, ensuring proper labeling and storage, and coordinating with disposal facilities.
Recycling initiatives, waste reduction programs, and public education efforts related to waste management practices.
cGMP
Ensures quality control activities are performed, and cGMP is enforced.
Promote and ensure compliance with Bright innovation labs internal policies, procedures, quality standards and good manufacturing practices (cGMP).
Lead and participate in annual GMP, safety, and other company training sessions.
Ensures compliance and adheres to cGMP requirements in all areas of work.
Ensures compliance with proper cleaning and storage practices are being followed according to cGMP.
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
