Graphic Design Intern
The Mesa Chamber of Commerce offers a unique opportunity as an association for potential interns to not only learn a range of skills in a professional setting but also meet and network with member organizations that fit the interns’ intended field of study.
As a successful intern with the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, you will engage in a wide-ranging collection of activities, including but not limited to:
- Member Engagement – Communicate with members via digital, phone, or in-person actions.
- Event Support – Work closely with Chamber Staff on the Chamber’s wide range of committee, networking, and other events to ensure members are provided with a world class experience. Tasks include checking in attendees, sending event reminders, and assisting staff during the event.
- Administrative Support – As an association with over 950 members, the work to keep member records current is ongoing.
Successful interns will work collaboratively and approach challenges with a solutions-focused attitude. They will communicate openly and ask questions to understand processes and their impact on a successful project.
Graphic Design Intern
The Mesa Chamber of Commerce always needs graphics and promotional materials for event flyers, social media, printed signage, and other projects. The Mesa Chamber team programs 500+ events each year, from annual corporate events to monthly and weekly networking events.
The Graphic Design Intern will develop creative assets for marketing initiatives, events, specific projects, and digital channels. The Intern must be able work in a high-pace environment meeting project deadlines.
Graphic Design Intern Key Responsibilities
- Design graphics to promote Chamber events and programs (such as printed event flyers, social media event flyers, digital banner ads)
- Capture and edit photos at Chamber events for use in marketing collateral
- Apply knowledge of branding and typography to create visually consistent and well-structured designs, with a special attention to font, spacing, and alignment
- Collaborate with the Communications Team and Events Department as needed
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Actively pursuing or recently completed a degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related field
- Basic proficiency in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), with a willingness to learn and grow in the design field
- Ability to multitask and meet project deadlines
- Receptive to team feedback, with the ability to refine designs
Time Commitment
The Chamber works to provide a flexible intern opportunity to candidates, asking for a minimum of 20 hours a week, working with the intern to create a schedule that meets their school and life needs.
Paid or Unpaid
The Mesa Chamber of Commerce Internships are unpaid.
