Preschool Teacher - Aftercare Assistant
Position Summary: This position requires a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide high-quality care and support to preschool-aged children, both with and without Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), in a daycare/preschool setting. By instructing young children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school success, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and well-being of young children in a supportive and enriching environment. Candidates with experience/exposure to working with children in a preschool or daycare setting are encouraged to apply!
Your Role at SARRC
- Assist in the development and implementation of weekly and daily lesson plans.
- Complies fully with all medical records and information privacy regulations, local, state and federal.
- Plans individual and group activities to stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills such as learning to listen to instructions, playing with others, and using play equipment.
- Sets up the classroom with all necessary materials while appropriately organizing and constructing activities and classroom zones.
- Continually interacts with all children in the classroom including instructing children on practices of personal cleanliness and self-care.
- Create a safe learning environment and attend to children’s basic needs; Maintain DHS health and sanitation guidelines
- Collect data on student performance and learning.
- Communicate with students, parents, and staff on a daily basis in regard to observations, progress, concerns, questions, preferences, etc.
Who You Are
- High school diploma or equivalent. Degree from an accredited college or university in the field of teaching, child development, social work or similar course of study preferred.
- Experience in childcare, education, and/or within a pre-school or daycare setting.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to and work with diverse backgrounds, human capabilities and limitations, and cultures.
- Interest in service to individuals with specialized and occasionally complex needs.
