I am a certified teacher with 23 years of combined experience as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and curriculum coach. My passion for helping struggling readers is deeply personal. It began during my own junior high years, when I learned that I had dyslexia.

I understand firsthand the embarrassment, frustration, and self-doubt that can come with reading difficulties. I remember questioning my abilities, losing confidence, and wondering whether I was simply not smart enough. Those experiences shaped my career and inspired my commitment to helping others avoid those same feelings.

I became a classroom teacher because I wanted to make a difference for students who struggled. However, I soon realized that in a classroom of 25 or more students, some children can easily fall through the cracks. I knew I wanted to do more.

That realization led me to expand my knowledge and expertise so I could work more effectively with students in small groups and one-on-one settings. This personalized approach allows me to identify specific reading challenges, build on individual strengths, and provide the focused instruction each learner needs to make meaningful progress.

Helping struggling readers become stronger, more confident learners is more than my profession—it is my passion. Few things are more rewarding than watching a student begin to believe in themselves and discover that they really can succeed.
