Cox wants to help make college possible for diverse students

$50,000 in diversity scholarship funding available to local high school seniors – applications due April 1

PHOENIX – As area high school seniors are starting to decide where to go to college, Cox wants to award ten Arizona students each with a $5,000.00 Cox Diversity Scholarship. This is up from $3,500 per student in 2024.

For students and their parents, knowing college start dates are a few short months away can feel both exciting and overwhelming. Securing the resources to make their dreams a reality can be one of the biggest challenges. COX is helping to make the college transition easier for Arizona students by offering additional financial support through scholarship opportunities.

Cox has a long track record of supporting youth and education programs in its communities and hopes these scholarships will help develop future Arizona leaders with rich cultural backgrounds. Since 2014, Cox has awarded more than $500,000 in diversity scholarships to students in the West region.

"At Cox, inclusion, diversity, and equity aren’t just values—we live them through our actions.  We are honored to invest in Arizona students with diverse backgrounds, helping them pursue their dreams and build brighter futures. Education transforms lives, and when students thrive, our communities grow stronger. We’re deeply proud to connect families to life-changing opportunities like this—and so many more," said Susan Anable, Cox Phoenix Market Vice President.

The Cox Diversity Scholarship program is open to high school seniors expected to graduate with a minimum 2.5 grade-point average who have demonstrated leadership and community service.

In 2024 Marisol Cortes, a new grad from Valley Vista High School, received a Cox Diversity Scholarship to attend ASU where she planned to pursue a major in Computer Science. “I’m very grateful to have received this scholarship as it has knocked down the barrier of financial stability,” said Cortes.
