FREE bilingual computer and technology classes offered through Mesa’s Small Business Technical Assistance Program

 

Mesa, AZ – Are you a Mesa small business owner who wants to learn more about computers and how to use technology to improve your business? The City of Mesa, in partnership with the Mesa Chamber of Commerce and Mesa Community College, is hosting FREE intermediate computer and technology training as part of the Mesa Business Builder Technical Assistance Program. The Intermediate Computer Training Class includes 14 hours of in-person professional instruction (seven two-hour sessions) starting the week of January 10, 2022. The second class, Excel Technology for Business, includes 20 hours of in-person or online professional instruction (10 two-hour sessions) and starts the week of February 7. Both classes are offered in Spanish and English.

 

Intermediate Technology for Business – Begins January 2022

Students will become more proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Excel for Accounting in small businesses. Students will learn how to create flyers, spreadsheets, and other documents and discuss the role of social media and e-commerce in today's business environment.

 

This is an in-person course and meets twice per week at MCC’s Main Campus, 1833 W. Southern Ave., Mesa, AZ 85202. Class in Spanish begins Monday, January 10 and class in English begins January 11, 2022.

 

Excel Technology for Business – Begins February 2022

Students will learn to use Microsoft Excel to format, save, print, and edit spreadsheets as well as to use formulas, create basic graphs, retrieve, and save data. Students will use Excel for basic accounting, payroll worksheets, and pivot tables.

 

This course is offered either in-person at MCC’s Main Campus or online. Class in English begins Monday, February 7 and class in Spanish begins Tuesday, February 8, 2022.

 

"Our partnership with the Mesa Chamber of Commerce and Mesa Community College is providing valuable resources and training to Mesa businesses," Mesa Economic Development Director Bill Jabjiniak said. "Basic business skills and practical experience with computer technologies are critical to the success of Mesa’s small businesses." 

 

These classes will be taught by a Mesa Community College instructor and are non-credit, with no grading. To be eligible, your business must be a for-profit business, be physically located in Mesa, have no more than 25 employees, gross no more than $1,000,000, and be accepted into the Mesa Business Builder Technical Assistance Program.
