Mesa Community College partners with Mesa United Way to offer free tax preparation services

MESA, Arizona -- January 30, 2025 -- Mesa Community College is again a location for Mesa United Way Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, offering free tax-preparation services to low- and moderate-income households with an income of $67,000 or less.

Walk-in services are offered now through April 12, 2025 at MCC’s Southern and Dobson Campus, EF Building, Room 1E, 1833 West Southern Ave. and the Red Mountain Campus, Acacia Village, 2305 North Power Road.

“We are pleased to serve as a location for Mesa United Way VITA services again this year,” said MCC Center for Civic & Community Engagement Faculty Supervisor Amelia Rodriguez. “With more than 1,000 members of our community benefiting from these services on our campuses last year, it is clear that this partnership is making a significant impact.”

According to a Mesa United Way report, last year nearly 1,100 returns were prepared at MCC locations bringing more than $1.5 million in refunds back into the community. Sixty percent of the clients receiving services were Mesa residents.

MCC Southern and Dobson Campus hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays 4–8 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.1 p.m. MCC Red Mountain Campus hours are Tuesdays 2-6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.–1 p.m. The college is closed during Spring Break, March 10–16.
