Open House Set for September 5 at MCC Red Mountain Campus

MESA, Arizona — August 14, 2025 — New Frontiers for Lifelong Learning (NFLL), a Mesa Community College (MCC) program for active adult learners, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with an Open House.

Founded in 1995, NFLL has grown into a vibrant learning community of more than 225 members who embrace curiosity, wellness and connection through engaging educational and social experiences.

To mark this milestone, NFLL will host an Open House on Friday, September 5, from 1–3 p.m. at MCC’s Red Mountain Campus, 7110 E. McKellips Road in Mesa. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet current members, explore fall class offerings and register for the upcoming semester. The event is free and open to the public.

NFLL offers a wide range of non-credit classes and discussion groups on topics including history, science, art, technology and wellness to name a few. In 2024 alone, NFLL provided more than 200 classes both online and in person. Members also enjoy social outings, field trips and interest groups such as book clubs, hiking, biking and walking groups.

“New Frontiers is more than a program — it’s a community of people who enjoy learning, sharing, and staying active,” said Dawn Fleming, NFLL communications chair. “For 30 years, we’ve created a space where members can connect, explore new ideas, and contribute their talents. We’re excited to celebrate this anniversary and welcome new friends to the journey.”

A single annual membership fee of $80 provides access to all NFLL offerings for a full year, August through July , along with MCC student benefits and local discounts. In addition to intellectual engagement, members often report improved social connection, increased well-being, and new friendships formed through shared interests.
